Description:
This training prepares peer recovery coaches to provide safe, ethical, and effective support to justice-involved individuals. Participants will explore the criminal justice system, the effects of incarceration and reentry, stigma, trafficking risks, professional boundaries, and advocacy through discussion and practical activities.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the justice system and the differences between jail, prison, probation, parole, and reentry systems.
- Understand the impact of justice-system involvement.
- Identify stigma in justice and recovery settings.
- Identify and navigate trafficking and exploitation in correctional settings.
- Understand boundaries, ethics, and dual relationships.
- Practice advocacy within forensic systems.
CEU Information:
