Practical Approaches to Help Teams Perform Well Under Pressure — Without the Harm

Session in brief:
As workplaces continue to navigate prolonged pressure and increasing demands, many organizations are looking for practical ways to support both wellbeing and performance.

In this practical Lunch & Learn, cognitive scientist and disaster recovery specialist Jolie Wills shares three often-missing pieces that help equip businesses and organizations to better understand the challenges people face under sustained pressure — and practical ways to address them. While the learning draws on lessons from high-pressure and disaster recovery environments, people do not need to be responding to a disaster to experience prolonged pressure or benefit from these insights.

The session explores practical ways workplaces can help people perform well, stay connected, and reduce unnecessary harm during demanding periods.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize common risks and opportunities for teams working under prolonged pressure
  • Identify three key gaps that can unintentionally undermine wellbeing and performance
  • Apply the ‘triple responsibility’ model for balancing outcomes, team wellbeing, and self-management
  • Explore practical strategies to help people sustain performance and wellbeing over time
