This course is designed to familiarize the participant with the history of Recovery Community Organizations (RCO), the recovery advocacy movement, and how data supports advocacy efforts.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn the history of the recovery advocacy movement in the United States.
- Identify how two of the core principles of an RCO play a role in state and national recovery advocacy efforts.
- Who we are advocating for, where should we be advocating, what issues are we advocating for (or against), and strategies on how to advocate.
- Learn the importance of utilizing credible data to support recovery advocacy efforts
