This course is designed to familiarize the participant with the history of Recovery Community Organizations (RCO), the recovery advocacy movement, and how data supports advocacy efforts.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the history of the recovery advocacy movement in the United States. 
  • Identify how two of the core principles of an RCO play a role in state and national recovery advocacy efforts. 
  • Who we are advocating for, where should we be advocating, what issues are we advocating for (or against), and strategies on how to advocate. 
  • Learn the importance of utilizing credible data to support recovery advocacy efforts 

CEU Information:

This course provides 1 CEU. CEUs are Category 1 CEU provided by Indiana state statute 839IAC 1-6-2(F)(86)

Additional Information:

You will be required to be on camera, participate, and be available during training hours to receive an attendance certificate. This includes not driving, shopping, or other atmospheres that would not be considered like a classroom environment.

Registration information provided as part of this course may be used by MHAI for various purposes, including reporting to state agencies and other accreditation and/or funding sources.
